What to expect at a treatment
Please allow up to one and a half hours for your initial appointment. During this consultation, I will take a detailed history of your dog, including any previous or current medical conditions, veterinary treatment, daily activities, diet, exercise routine, and home environment.
I will then assess your dog’s posture and gait, followed by advanced palpation to identify areas of tension, discomfort, or imbalance.
I am trained in the following massage disciplines:
Swedish massage
Sports massage
Deep tissue massage
Myofascial release, including the Lenton Method®
Each treatment is tailored to suit your dog’s individual needs, comfort levels, and abilities. Hands-on treatment typically lasts around 30–40 minutes, depending on what is appropriate for your dog on the day.
Following the session, I will provide detailed aftercare advice and discuss a recommended course of treatment where appropriate. To ensure continuity of care, a written report of my findings will be sent to your veterinary surgeon.
Subsequent appointments usually last around 45 minutes.
In compliance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and the Veterinary Exemptions Order 2015, I do not treat any dog without prior veterinary consent. If required, I am happy to liaise directly with your vet to obtain this on your behalf.
Clinics are held Monday to Thursday at Chaseview Vets. Home visits are also available where this is more suitable for you and your dog. To book an appointment or make an enquiry, please call or message me on 07815155645 or info@RHK9massage.
