Terms and conditions of bookings

Your rights are protected under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

1. Bookings & Payment

Payment in full is required at the time of booking in order to secure your place on a workshop.

2. Cooling-Off Period (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

You have the right to cancel your booking within 14 days of booking without charge, provided the workshop has not yet taken place.

If the workshop date falls within the 14-day cooling-off period, you acknowledge that by attending the workshop you waive your right to a refund once the workshop has begun.

No refunds are available once a workshop has been attended.

3. Transfers

If you need to transfer your booking to an alternative workshop date, the following terms apply:

  • First transfer requested more than six weeks prior to the workshop date: no charge

  • Any further transfers requested more than six weeks prior to the workshop date: £25 rebooking fee

  • Transfers requested two to six weeks prior to the workshop date: 25% of the course fee

  • Transfers requested less than two weeks prior to the workshop date: 50% of the course fee

All transfers must be taken within 12 months of the original workshop date.

4. Cancellations

If you cancel your booking and do not wish to transfer to another workshop date, the following charges apply:

  • More than six weeks’ notice: no charge

  • Two to six weeks’ notice: 50% of the course fee

  • Less than two weeks’ notice: full course fee payable

Cancellations must be made in writing or by email.

Cancellation charges reflect administrative costs and the difficulty of reselling workshop places at short notice.

5. Non-Attendance

If you do not attend a workshop without prior notice, the full course fee remains payable.

6. Cancellation by RHK9 Massage

In the unlikely event that a workshop must be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered either:

  • A full refund, or

  • A free transfer to an alternative workshop date

7. Scope of Workshops

Completion of a one-day workshop does not qualify attendees to practice as a Canine Massage Therapist or to treat dogs belonging to the general public.

If you wish to train as a practitioner, you are advised to consider the Clinical Canine Massage Practitioner Programme, a two-year course delivered by the Canine Massage Therapy Centre (CMTC) and accredited by LANTRA.

Practitioners must comply with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and relevant Exemptions Orders.

 8. Attendee Responsibilities

  • Attendees are responsible for providing their own dog for the workshop

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that both you and your dog are fit to attend

  • Dogs must not have any medical or behavioural condition that could pose a risk to themselves or others

  • You must inform me in advance of any medical, behavioural, or handling concerns relating to your dog

  • You may be required to work on the floor or from a table depending on your dog’s size; please advise in advance if this may present a difficulty

  • Attendees with disabilities are welcome; however, any additional needs must be discussed in advance

  • Due to limited space, additional spectators cannot be accommodated

  • Food is not provided other than tea and coffee; attendees are advised to bring their own lunch

  • Attendees must be over 16 years old.

9. Safety

RHK9 Massage reserves the right to refuse or discontinue participation if a dog or handler becomes unsafe, disruptive, or aggressive toward people or other dogs.

Dogs must remain under control at all times and must be kept on a lead or harness unless otherwise instructed.

Owners remain fully responsible for their dog throughout the workshop.

Dogs must not be left unattended in vehicles during warm weather. If a dog is considered to be at risk, appropriate action may be taken to safeguard the dog’s welfare.

10. Assumption of Risk

Attendance at workshops is undertaken at your own risk. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so under applicable consumer legislation.

11. Data Protection & Privacy

Your personal information will be used solely for workshop administration and, where consent has been given, to provide information about future workshops or services.

You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by contacting me.
Your personal data will not be shared with third parties.
